IT Chosun reported that blockchain research organization of Samsung Electronics has recently been assigned to AI and security organizations, and has been substantially disbanded.
This organization has developed original blockchain technologies at Samsung Electronics. It has built Samsung’s blockchain mainnet and developed Samsung Coin (tentative name).
According to the report, “Since Samsung Electronics’ mobile payment service would be operated on the mainnet, there was an expectation that it will launch Samsung Coin when regulations are removed. Because the research organization has been disbanded, it is unclear whether the blockchain mainnet and Samsung Coin will be developed.”
