Recently, the SOMESING (SOMESING) platform, based on blockchain technology, experienced a significant hacking incident involving its SOMESING Token (SSX). This event led to the theft of approximately 180 billion won worth of SOMESING tokens, accounting for about 23% of the total market capitalization, which amounts to 730 million tokens.
Following the detection of the hack, the SOMESING team immediately requested the suspension of deposits and withdrawals on both domestic and international cryptocurrency exchanges and reported the incident to the Cyber Investigation Department of the National Police Agency. Regarding this, SOMESING stated, “A total of 730 million tokens, which includes tokens planned for circulation by the end of 2025 and those currently held by the foundation, were stolen.”
