Samsung Electronics today entered into a partnership with digital currency exchange Gemini Trust to allow users to easily trade and store digital assets on their phones.
Gemini Trust launched a standalone digital currency app in 2018, while Samsung launched a blockchain wallet in 2019.
As a result of this partnership, Gemini Trust’s app will integrate with the blockchain wallet for Samsung Galaxy S20 series and Galaxy Z Flip phones.
This integration will allow Samsung Blockchain Wallet users to connect to the Gemini mobile app to buy, sell, and trade crypto.
Gemini Trust is the first digital currency exchange to let Samsung blockchain wallet users in the US and Canada check their balances in their wallet app.
Users wishing to trade digital currency will be directed to Gemini Trust’s mobile app to start buying and selling without logging in again.
Historically, using and trading digital cryptocurrencies has required multiple steps, and this complexity has impacted digital currency transactions.
Of the partnership, Jeanine HighTower-Sellitto, General Manager of Operations at Gemini Trust, said, “It’s a full integration between the two apps, very transparent and very easy to use.”
“Crypto is not just a technology, it is a movement. We are proud to be working with Samsung to bring crypto’s promise of greater choice, independence, and opportunity to more individuals around the world,” said Tyler Winklevoss, CEO of Gemini. “Now, Samsung Blockchain Wallet customers can buy crypto in a simple, elegant and secure way on Gemini.”
