Code, a travel rule solution company that is a joint venture between virtual asset exchange Bithumb, Coinone, and Korbit, has acquired ‘ISO/IEC 27001’, an international standard certification in the field of information protection. ISO/IEC 27001 is an international standard in the field of information security established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Certification can be obtained through an adequacy evaluation of items such as information protection policy, technical and physical security, and management security required by the European Union’s (EU) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

CODE recently obtained the compliance management system (ISO 37301) certification from the Korea Compliance Institute (KCI). ISO 37301 is an international standard related to compliance established by ISO, and is responsible for establishing, executing, and maintaining a compliance management plan. It is a global certification granted after evaluating whether a systematic management system, including management and improvement, has been established.

Code conducts mandatory compliance training and programs to ensure that all executives and employees comply with compliance, and operates a system to monitor compliance risks that may occur during virtual asset deposit and withdrawal services in relation to travel rules.

CODE also signed a partnership with Signa, which mainly provides travel rule solutions to virtual asset operators in Japan and Taiwan. Signa is a company founded by CoolbitX, a Taiwanese virtual asset security solution company, and provides travel rule solutions to Japanese and Taiwanese virtual asset operators, including Bitbank and Bitopro.

Code plans to collaborate with Signa to flexibly respond to travel rule regulations in each country. In the future, CODE will go beyond establishing an exemplary compliance management culture as a travel rule solution company and will continue to make efforts with CODE member companies to establish a sound compliance management culture in the virtual asset industry.
