LG Electronics is developing virtual currency(cryptocurrency) wallet, following Samsung. Trademark right of the virtual currency wallet will be applied and the wallet is expected to be installed in the next flagship(strategic) model.
On July 2nd, LG applied the trademark of ‘ThinQ Wallet’ to United States Patents and Trademark Office(USPTO). The document contained a brief explanation, describing ThinkQ Wallet as “Application for smartphones, payment software, blockchain software, and digital wallet for cryptocurrency.”
After ‘Samsung Blockchain Wallet’ was installed in Samsung Galaxy S10 prior to this in March this year, it seems that LG Electronics has buckled down to the blockchain·cryptocurrency business as well.
The ThinQ Wallet is expected to be installed in LG’s next flagship(strategic) smartphone.
The industry source said that LG Electronics has been consistently contacting the cryptocurrency corporates under the table, ever since the release of Samsung Blockchain Wallet. The source added, “LG Electronics’ recent participation of Kakao’s blockchain alliance, ‘Klaytn Governance Council’ is also a part of the strategy.”
