Discussion on Utilizing Digital Assets for Non-Profit Organizations… Seminar to be Held at the National Assembly on March 10

The International Digital Asset Committee (IDAC) will host the “Public Interest Corporation Digital Asset Utilization Seminar” on March 10 at the National Assembly Members’ Hall. This seminar, organized by the office of Representative Min Byung-deok and co-hosted by IDAC and the Digital Asset Donation Association (DADA), aims to discuss key issues and solutions related to the recent government approval of digital asset utilization for non-profit organizations.

IDAC is a public interest organization that promotes social contribution activities using digital assets, supporting emerging artists, local content creators, and artists with developmental disabilities. DADA is a group dedicated to researching and sharing case studies on digital asset donations, involving key figures from major charitable organizations such as World Vision, Community Chest of Korea, and The Beautiful Foundation, as well as experts from the digital asset industry, academia, and the legal sector.

The seminar will address digital asset utilization for non-profit organizations from various perspectives, including:

  • Market trends
  • Case studies of non-profit organizations utilizing digital assets
  • Taxation, accounting, and legal/institutional aspects

Key speakers include:

  • Won Eun-seok, Chairman of IDAC, presenting on “Social Contribution: A Testbed for Establishing the Digital Asset Industry Ecosystem.”
  • Jang Yoon-joo, Research Team Leader at The Beautiful Foundation, discussing “Current Status and Case Studies of Public Interest Utilization of Digital Assets.”
  • Lee Ho-sung, CEO of Ichon Tax Accounting, speaking on “Tax and Accounting Issues Related to the Use of Virtual Assets by Public Interest Corporations.”
  • Lee Ji-eun, Attorney at Liberty Law Office, addressing “Legal and Institutional Issues and Challenges for the Activation of Virtual Asset Donations.”

Following these presentations, a panel discussion titled “Where Do We Stand on Digital Asset Utilization for Public Interest Organizations?” will take place, featuring representatives from the Financial Services Commission, National Tax Service, Upbit (a digital asset exchange), and custodial service providers.

Representative Min Byung-deok stated, “By integrating the digital asset ecosystem with donation culture, we can expand the scope of social contributions. Based on the discussions from this seminar, we will explore institutional support measures to help non-profit organizations utilize digital assets more effectively.”

The seminar is open to non-profit organization representatives and individuals interested in digital asset-based donations and social contributions, with attendance limited to the first 50 applicants via the Eventus website.
