“Dinner with Trump, Paid with Crypto”: Korean Entrepreneur Joins Global Stage with Meme Coin Investment

Washington D.C., May 22, 2025. At the Trump National Golf Club in Washington D.C., a select group of 25 individuals gathers for an exclusive dinner hosted by former U.S. President Donald Trump. Among these global crypto heavyweights, only one is Korean: Sangrok Oh, co-founder and CEO of Hyperithm.

This dinner is more than a formal event. it’s a high-stakes reward for the top holders of “Official Trump” ($TRUMP), a meme coin launched by Trump himself earlier this year. Released just days before his inauguration, the coin skyrocketed over 18,000% on its debut, fueling global investor excitement.

Following a sharp correction, the coin regained momentum in early May after Trump announced a special reward event for major holders. Based on weighted holdings from April 23 to May 12, the top 220 investors were selected for a reception, with the top 25 earning access to the VIP dinner, private White House tour, and limited-edition Trump NFTs.

Oh, who ranks 13th globally, reportedly holds approximately $3 million worth of $TRUMP. “Unlike Warren Buffett’s lunch, which is an auction, dinner with Trump felt like an investment,” Oh said. “It’s not just about attending an event. it’s an opportunity to have a voice in the global crypto conversation.”

Oh co-founded Hyperithm in 2018 with fellow Seoul National University alumnus Wonjun Lee. The firm, which operates in both South Korea and Japan, specializes in algorithm-based crypto hedge funds and venture investments in blockchain startups. With a background in M&A at Morgan Stanley and private equity, Oh brings a disciplined financial strategy to the volatile world of digital assets.

Hyperithm has previously secured over $10 million in Series B funding, backed by names such as Wemade Tree, Hashed, Coinbase Ventures, Cocone, and GS Futures. Na Soo-kyung, another executive from Hyperithm, also made it into the top 220 and will attend the reception alongside Oh.

Joining the event are crypto industry titans including Justin Sun (founder of TRON), co-founders of MemeCore (Singapore), and the CEO of BitMart. Though unconfirmed, members of the Trump family—such as Eric Trump—are also rumored to attend. The venue, Trump’s own luxury golf club, adds an exclusive sheen to the occasion.

This high profile gathering highlights the intersection of crypto and politics, and the increasingly strategic moves investors are making to gain not just returns but access.
