Hancom with Enters Real World Asset (RWA) Market with Gold-Backed Stablecoin; Arowana Token Listed on Global Exchange

Hancom with has officially entered the Real World Asset (RWA) sector through its affiliate Arowana Hub. On July 2 at 8:00 AM, the governance token Arowana Token (ARW) was officially listed on GATE.io, the 8th largest global crypto exchange. This move enables global trading of ARW previously held only within Korea.

ARW, built on the Arbitrum network, had been used primarily in digital gold-related services. However, this listing marks the beginning of a broader rollout involving the Arowana Gold Token (AGT)—a gold-backed stablecoin—and a suite of tokenized real asset protocols and DeFi services.

AGT is a stablecoin backed 1:1 with real physical gold, using Chainlink oracles to track global gold prices and a third-party audit-based Proof-of-Reserve (PoR) system to ensure collateral integrity and price linkage. Arowana Hub is also developing its own platform, with a Closed Beta Test (CBT) scheduled for July.

Hancom with aims to strengthen its foothold in the global RWA sector by working closely with Arowana Hub and Hancom Gold Exchange. CEO Song Sang-yeop noted, “Global exchanges are showing strong interest in the Arowana protocol,” and added, “We will soon launch a specialized platform to expand our on-chain finance services based on real-world asset linkages.”

Outlook & Implications

  1. Acceleration of Real Asset Tokenization
As traditional value assets like gold are converted into digital formats, we may soon see a rise in tokenized real estate, artworks, and other physical assets.

  2. Need for Strong Regulations and Transparency
While AGT has adopted oracles and PoR mechanisms for security and transparency, the expansion of the RWA ecosystem will ultimately depend on regulatory clarity and public trust.

  3. Watch Arowana’s Ecosystem Growth
The utility and adoption of Arowana’s tokens—ARW and AGT—will largely depend on whether their upcoming DeFi services and financial platforms deliver real-world usability and value.
