June 2025 Cryptocurrency Exchange Brand Reputation: Bithumb Retains Top Spot, Followed by Upbit and Coinone

In June 2025, Bithumb maintained its position as the leading cryptocurrency exchange in South Korea’s monthly brand reputation rankings. Upbit and Coinone followed in second and third place, respectively, continuing their influence in the domestic market.

The rankings were compiled by the Korea Corporate Reputation Research Institute, which analyzed 21,675,802 pieces of big data collected over a one-month period from May 26 to June 26. Evaluation criteria included Participation Index, Media Index, Communication Index, and Community Index, assessing factors such as consumer engagement, media exposure, and community response online.

Bithumb recorded a brand reputation index score of 5,184,128, reflecting a 1.63% increase compared to the previous month. Its detailed metrics were: Participation Index 1,342,800; Media Index 1,517,151; Communication Index 638,956; and Community Index 1,685,221. Recent trading volume growth, market share gains, and new service announcements were seen as contributing positively to Bithumb’s reputation.

Upbit ranked second with a score of 4,604,825, showing a 4.79% increase from the prior month. The exchange stood out in the Participation Index (1,501,100) and Community Index (1,352,294), reflecting strong user engagement and a positive reputation within the community. Upbit has recently improved its brand image by expanding listings, launching promotional events, and strengthening investor protection measures.

Coinone secured third place with 1,270,561 points, marking a notable 9.16% growth compared to last month. Although it remains smaller in scale relative to the two leading exchanges, Coinone’s efforts to improve trading services and strengthen user communication have gradually boosted its brand reputation.

Additionally, GOPAX and Korbit ranked fourth and fifth, respectively, maintaining their presence in the competitive landscape.

Industry observers noted that these reputation scores reflect not only transaction volumes but also broader factors such as community activity, media visibility, and overall user participation. They emphasized that proactive investor protection measures and continuous service innovation have become crucial drivers of brand perception.

With ongoing regulatory discussions, tax changes, and recovering investor sentiment throughout the first half of the year, competition among exchanges has intensified. Brand reputation scores are increasingly seen as a key barometer of consumer trust and market influence, and the contest among leading exchanges is expected to continue into the second half of 2025.
